Google Chrome is affected by several new vulnerabilities. Attackers can use them to run malicious code, escalate their privileges, bypass security mechanisms, read confidential information, alter data, deceive you or crash the browser.
Most of this does not happen on its own. Some of the flaws require particular permissions, specific system conditions or an action on your side, such as opening a crafted web page, app or file. In practice that bar is low, since a single click on a link can be enough.
Google has released updates. Chrome does update itself, but the new version only takes effect after you restart the browser, and with a pile of open tabs that restart tends to get postponed for weeks. Check it yourself: chrome://settings/help shows your installed version and immediately looks for updates.
