This Disables Arbor DDoS Protection
The features mentioned below are why FameSystems and many other vendors rely on Arbor Networks.
Quick response
DDoS Protection detects incoming DDoS attacks within one second and stops them in less than 30 seconds.
Real-time detection
Arbor distinguishes between user traffic and attack traffic in real time. This means that users are not restricted by a DDoS attack.
Strong protection
The DDoS Protection we use detects 99% of attacks and defends against them.
The strongest DDoS protection
Defense includes all methods and techniques to contain the negative effects of DDoS attacks. For this purpose, the data stream is filtered to allow only desired traffic through.
Multi-layered DDoS Protection
Arbor Cloud DDoS Protection Service is a service from Arbor Networks. It combines various defense systems for optimal protection against any form of DDoS attacks. This ensures that the protected service is available at all times.
Arbor - ATLAS
ATLAS detects DDoS attacks in real time and can even predict them in some cases. Arbor also detects so-called application layer and state exhaustion attacks. These attacks are carried out with a low bandwidth and are therefore not detected by conventional DDoS protections.
What is a DDoS attack?
In a distributed denial-of-service attack, thousands of hijacked devices send requests to a server at the same time until its bandwidth or computing power is exhausted. The service then becomes unreachable for legitimate users. It is not just large companies that are affected: game servers, TeamSpeak communities and small shops are among the most frequent targets, because an attack there causes visible damage with little effort.
How mitigation works at FameSystems
Less than 30 seconds pass from the first suspicious packet to active mitigation.
Permanent monitoring
All traffic is analysed around the clock. Arbor ATLAS compares it with known attack patterns from networks worldwide.
Detection in under one second
If traffic deviates from normal behaviour, the attack is detected within one second.
Filtering instead of shutdown
Attack traffic is filtered out, legitimate requests continue to reach your server. Your service stays online.
Mitigation in under 30 seconds
Mitigation takes effect in less than 30 seconds and stays active until the attack ends. You do not have to configure or report anything.
Which types of attack are mitigated?
Three layers, one mitigation. Arbor detects all three in real time.
Volumetric attacks
UDP and amplification floods of up to 1 Tbit/s
State exhaustion
SYN floods and other attacks on connection tables
Application layer
HTTP floods and targeted attacks on individual services
Why this matters for gaming and communities
A gaming session that breaks off because of an attack costs players and reputation. With game servers and TeamSpeak in particular, short outages are enough for a community to move on. That is why even the smallest FameSystems products are behind the same Arbor mitigation as the large dedicated servers.
Which products are protected?
All of them. Root servers, vServers, dedicated servers, web hosting, TeamSpeak servers and music bots are all connected to the same protected network. Game servers you run on your own KVM root server are protected as well. Protection is included in the price: no surcharges, no tiers and no volume limits beyond which it is switched off.

Web hosting overviewFrequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions we are asked most often about this.
No. Protection is included in the price of all products and is permanently active.
No. Mitigation runs at network level in front of your server. No settings, agents or firewall rules are required.
Attacks are detected within one second and stopped in less than 30 seconds.
Arbor distinguishes between user and attack traffic in real time. Legitimate requests continue to pass through and your service remains reachable.
Yes. In addition to volumetric attacks, Arbor also detects state-exhaustion and application-layer attacks such as HTTP floods.
